Didrick Medical Inc. is proud to have developed the world's first functional artificial fingertip for finger amputees. These devices are made from stainless steel, enabling them to be extremely strong, yet low profile. These devices can be covered with our thermoplastic covers for added realism or easily attached to our removable hand stabilization straps for additional strength. These devices require the movement of at least a small portion of the middle phalange to articulate. Individuals with an amputation level shown in the image below in blue will be best suited for an X-Tip.
X-tips are the finest functional artificial fingertips on the market for a variety of reasons. First, they are the lowest profile of any functional artificial finger. Because they are such a low profile, up to four of them can be comfortably worn at the same time without fear of them colliding together.
The controlling rings which partially surround the residual finger can be loosened or tightened by hand. This allows for the user to change the size of the rings when the fingers swell or when a tighter fit is desired for more demanding uses.
X-tips also offer the greatest range of motion of any functional artificial finger on the market.
The rings with surround the residual finger can also be customized into a variety of colors as well.
